{"id":2598,"date":"2014-09-02T17:40:53","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T22:40:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2598"},"modified":"2014-09-02T17:40:53","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T22:40:53","slug":"concussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2598","title":{"rendered":"Concussion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got a pretty good knock on the head yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>I was knocked out for just a few seconds. \u00a0Saw stars. \u00a0My jaw was super sore. \u00a0My neck was stiff. \u00a0Had a terrible headache. \u00a0Sleepy but couldn&#8217;t sleep. \u00a0Nauseous and super, super dizzy.<\/p>\n<p>Here it is&#8230;just a tad more than 24 hours since the incident and the room is still spinning.<\/p>\n<p>So, I went to see my Doctor today.<\/p>\n<p>She was concerned.<\/p>\n<p>CT Scan.<\/p>\n<p>Good news: \u00a0No fracture or bleeder.<\/p>\n<p>Bad news: \u00a0Swelling and bruising.<\/p>\n<p>Diagnosis: \u00a0Concussion. \u00a0Just a plain ol&#8217; concussion.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment: \u00a0No running for the rest of the week. \u00a0Keep very still. \u00a0Try not to move my head much. \u00a0Advil when needed. Go back Friday morning for checkup.<\/p>\n<p>The treatment part is what gets me. \u00a0Only a few more serious weeks of training for the Chicago Marathon and I&#8217;m going to miss one full week of it. \u00a0This is bad. \u00a0I guess it could be worse so I&#8217;m not going to complain&#8230;at least, not too loud. \u00a0 \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Take care, all!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got a pretty good knock on the head yesterday.
