{"id":2588,"date":"2014-08-26T15:51:23","date_gmt":"2014-08-26T20:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2588"},"modified":"2014-08-26T15:51:23","modified_gmt":"2014-08-26T20:51:23","slug":"380-00-and-other-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2588","title":{"rendered":"$380.00 and Other Stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you think back to the beginning of this month, MFH (My Favorite Husband), #1 Son and I went on a vacation to Des Moines, Iowa, to visit my In-Laws. \u00a0We had a wonderful time and did every touristy thing possible to do.<\/p>\n<p>There was one rather large hurdle to cross before we could leave. \u00a0I had to find somebody to take care of the chickens while I was gone.<\/p>\n<p>I had contacted the place where I took Paxton, my dog, when we went out of town. \u00a0They gave me the name of a lady who did house sitting and animal care. \u00a0I called her, she came out to meet the animals (she fed the cats, too), I liked her, so I hired her. \u00a0She needed to feed and water the animals for 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>When we were driving home, she called to see if I minded if she penned up the chickens earlier in the day than usual. \u00a0See, she and her husband were leaving for their 2 week vacation that day and wanted to leave before dark. \u00a0I told her that would be fine. \u00a0She said that I could pay her when they got home.<\/p>\n<p>Last night, she called. \u00a0She was home and wanted paid. \u00a0$380.00 for feeding chickens and two cats for 10 days! \u00a0I about died!!! \u00a0Holy cow that was a lot of money!<\/p>\n<p>If you also recall, I had received a phone call from my sister the second day we were gone. \u00a0She and my nephew had stopped by to cut my grass. \u00a0The chickens had not been let out or fed and they were out of water. \u00a0This was at 1:00 PM. \u00a0This was bad!<\/p>\n<p>My sister took care of the animals that day (a Saturday). \u00a0The next day, my parents stopped by the house after church to check on the chickens. \u00a0Things were better that day.<\/p>\n<p>The next day, Monday, my sister made another trip to my house to double check on the animals. \u00a0By then we were thinking that things were going to be alright and that the lady was doing her job.<\/p>\n<p>See, after my sister called me, I called the lady and asked her how the animals were doing. \u00a0She vaguely said that things were just fine. \u00a0Uh-huh. \u00a0I think that is when she realized that I knew that she was not doing her job. \u00a0Things improved dramatically after that. \u00a0Good.<\/p>\n<p>But $380.00!?! \u00a0Holy cow that lady has an inflated opinion of her work!<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I did pay her and I will not use her again.<\/p>\n<p>Other stuff&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Today was my second (out of three) 20 milers for the Chicago Marathon.<\/p>\n<p>I set my alarm for 4:00 am. \u00a0I got up when it went off (amazing in and of itself!), made some grits and coffee, got dressed and was out the door by 5:40 am.<\/p>\n<p>From the very beginning, the run was awful! \u00a0Holy Cow&#8230;my legs felt like bricks! \u00a0I felt like I was barely moving. \u00a0It was dreadful. \u00a0It really, really was.<\/p>\n<p>I found myself more thirsty than usual. \u00a0I went through 95 oz of Gatorade before, during and after the run. \u00a0I just could not get enough to drink. \u00a0I had lost 10 lbs in my 4 hr run. \u00a0Something was wrong.<\/p>\n<p>MFH and #1 Son and gone to the store while I was on my run. \u00a0They brought back a pizza for lunch! \u00a0I love pizza!<\/p>\n<p>The guys asked me to get lunch ready. \u00a0I could barely move. \u00a0I was soooo tired and felt lousy~but I got stuff on the table and we sat down to eat. \u00a0I could hardly eat one piece of that pizza. \u00a0I felt worse and worse.<\/p>\n<p>My tummy started rebelling. \u00a0Oh man! \u00a0That&#8217;s when I knew I was sick. \u00a0That was why my run was so terrible. \u00a0Made perfect sense.<\/p>\n<p>So, I took a shower, put on my PJ&#8217;s and went back to bed. \u00a0For 3 hours.<\/p>\n<p>I am awake now. \u00a0It is almost time for me to make everybody dinner. \u00a0I&#8217;m hoping they will decide to go out and get something for themselves. \u00a0I don&#8217;t want anything. \u00a0At all!<\/p>\n<p>That is my two stories of the day. \u00a0Both sad but true \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you think back to the beginning of this month, MFH (My Favorite Husband), #1 Son and I went on a vacation to Des Moines, Iowa, to visit my In-Laws. \u00a0We had a wonderful time and did every touristy thing possible to do.
