I think Dorothy was on to something in the Wizard of Oz. \u00a0There is no place like home!<\/p>\n
We have been home almost 1 1\/2 hrs now. \u00a0We drove 14 hours today. \u00a0Made excellent time!!! \u00a0Beautiful weather. Good company. \u00a0No complaints.<\/p>\n
As soon as we pulled up into the driveway, the chickens came running down their ladder. \u00a0They had been upstairs in their roosting area. \u00a0They had already gone to bed for the evening. \u00a0Peter started crowing his welcome. \u00a0They were happy to see us.<\/p>\n
I walked up to the front door and out of the corner of my eye, there was a blur of black and a blur of white. \u00a0Kali (she is a black and caramel colored calico kitty) and Castro (Kali’s son, a white kitty) were running up to the house to greet us. \u00a0They were rolling on the ground in front of my feet. \u00a0“Pet me! \u00a0No, wait, let me give you kitty kisses. \u00a0No, wait, Pet me!…..” \u00a0In the meantime the chickens were still carrying on.<\/p>\n
Finally made it into the house and there was Loki. \u00a0That poor bunny had spend the entire 10 days we were gone in his bunny box. \u00a0I went over and immediately let him out. \u00a0He wiggled his nose and then promptly hopped into a corner to pout. \u00a0He was upset that he had spent that long in his box. \u00a0In the meantime, the cats were wanting loved and fed and the chickens were still clamoring for attention…<\/p>\n
MFH (My Favorite Husband) was carrying things into the house. \u00a0I hurried to help him.<\/p>\n
The chickens saw me out in the yard again and started kicking up a fuss even louder than before!<\/p>\n
I told MFH that I would help him in a minute but I was going to have to take care of the animals.<\/p>\n
So, I came into the house and put some freeze dried meal worms into a tub. \u00a0Stopped to feed the cats some kitty treats. \u00a0Went outdoor to the chickens. \u00a0They were so excited! \u00a0I’ve never seen them this excited before! \u00a0I opened their door and gave them their worms. \u00a0All was well.<\/p>\n
I hurried back into the house. \u00a0I opened a can of cat food (special treat!) and gave them some of that.<\/p>\n
THEN, I helped carry the rest of the stuff into the house. \u00a0I have unpacked the suitcases and have the first (of many) loads of laundry going.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow morning, I will go and pick up Paxton (my dog) from Reggie’s House. He will be a pooped pooch. \u00a0He always has a Reggie Hangover when he comes home from there. \u00a0Too much playing with the other dogs I expect.<\/p>\n
