Today, MFH (My Favorite Husband), #1 Son and I went to the Iowa State Fair.<\/p>\n
It was opening day. \u00a0We were there when they opened the gates!<\/p>\n
To bring people into the Fair, today was lottery day. \u00a0At a few of the gates to the Fairgrounds, they gave out free lottery vouchers until supplies ran out. \u00a0I got one. \u00a0Haven’t taken it to a vendor yet to see if it is a winner.<\/p>\n
We have been looking forward to going to the Fair since January. \u00a0We planned out our vacation to Iowa around the Fair. \u00a0It has been two years since we have been back and were really excited about going back.<\/p>\n
So, what did we do?<\/p>\n
Well, if you have me on your FL on FB, you know exactly what we did! \u00a0MFH accuses me of be a social media butterfly and today, I was in fine form. \u00a0Pics and posts until the battery died on my phone.<\/p>\n
So, here’s the list of what I did.<\/p>\n
Ate!!! \u00a0A pork chop on a stick, a deep fried snickers bar and MFH and I shared a lamb cheeseburger. \u00a0Yum!<\/p>\n
Walked!!! \u00a0My fitbit says I walked 20,335 steps. \u00a0That is 8 miles on. the. button.<\/p>\n
Got a participant ribbon in the Women’s Chicken Calling Contest.<\/p>\n
Did the Zip Line. \u00a0(that was fun!)<\/p>\n
Milked a Cow.<\/p>\n
Took pics of the Biggest Boar~1,273 lbs. and the biggest Bull ~3,012 lbs.<\/p>\n
Watched hog judging (and that is actually very interesting and entertaining!).<\/p>\n
Watched chicken judging. \u00a0That was entertaining, too. \u00a0The 4H kids with chickens to be judged, hauled them to the judging area in grocery store buggies! \u00a0You had to be on your toes or else a 4H kid would mow you over with a buggie full of hens.<\/p>\n
We were there 12 hours and now I am ready for bed.<\/p>\n
As we were on our way home, MFH asked me, “So, what was the most interesting\/different person you saw.”<\/p>\n
I laughed!!! \u00a0Oh, boy! \u00a0There were a lot of them!!! \u00a0I told him that and I had no idea where to begin.<\/p>\n
