So, the Big Race was on Saturday. \u00a0What have I been doing since Saturday?<\/p>\n
Well, immediately after the race, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I had a three hour drive to get home. By the time we reached our house, rigor mortis had definitely set in. \u00a0I thought that MFH was going to have to pry me out of the car and carry me into the house. \u00a0Wow! I was stiff!<\/p>\n
Sunday was church day. \u00a0I was surprised that I was not super duper achy!<\/p>\n
After last Fall’s Marathon, I could barely walk for about four days. \u00a0It was awful! Sunday morning, if I was careful, I could walk kind of normal. \u00a0Not too bad, I though! \u00a0After church, though, I parked my rumpatootis at home and did not do much of anything.<\/p>\n
Same for yesterday.<\/p>\n
I did a ton of laundry and some minor housework and cooking. \u00a0You know, regular stuff. \u00a0As far as doing anything major or walking the dog or anything even remotely exercising? \u00a0Nope. \u00a0I was having no part of it. \u00a0Not so much because I was super sore, I was just tired.<\/p>\n
Then, this morning.<\/p>\n
I woke up all bright eyed and bushy tailed. \u00a0We had a cool front go through during the night and it was sunny and only 73F! \u00a0I couldn’t let a morning like that go to waste. \u00a0So….<\/p>\n
I had my usual breakfast of grits and coffee. \u00a0Fed the chickens. \u00a0The bunny. \u00a0The cats. \u00a0The dog. \u00a0And of course, MFH! \u00a0Then I thought, “I’m going to do it!”<\/p>\n
So, I went and changed into my running clothes and headed on out the door. \u00a0I got back on that horse and ran! \u00a0What a great run it was, too!<\/p>\n
Thoroughly expecting to be stiff and slow, things felt easy! \u00a0I wasn’t any speedy creature, but y’all know me for the slow poke I am. \u00a0I was quicker than I expected to be, though. \u00a0I didn’t push to go fast, I just ran for the pure joy of running.<\/p>\n
