I am on cloud nine right now!!!<\/p>\n
All day long, I have been checking the race site to see the results from Saturday’s 50K.<\/p>\n
It was soooooo hot that day. \u00a0I knew that a lot of people were DNF’s. \u00a0I wanted to see how everybody did. \u00a0Curiosity and all that.<\/p>\n
So, a little while ago, the results were posted.<\/p>\n
First off, yesterday’s blog was incorrect. \u00a0Three people did finish the 100K. \u00a0They completed the race with 10 minutes to spare. \u00a0Good for them!!!<\/p>\n
Of all of the 84 starters at the race, only 48 finished. That means that 36 people were a DNF. \u00a0That is a 42% DNF. \u00a0That is a lot.<\/p>\n
The other thing that I found out was:<\/p>\n
I got 2nd place in my age division!!!<\/p>\n
Woo-Hoo!!!<\/p>\n
I am soooooo excited!!!<\/p>\n
I have never, ever placed in a race before!<\/p>\n
This was my very first Ultra and it was so hot and the course was very challenging…..<\/p>\n
So, there you have it.<\/p>\n
Now, off to train for Chicago.<\/p>\n
I printed off my training schedule for the Chicago Marathon this morning. \u00a0The long run for this weekend is supposed to be 18 miles. \u00a0I think I’m going to procrastinate on that for another week…still pretty pooped from last weekend.<\/p>\n
