{"id":2494,"date":"2014-07-11T16:52:56","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T21:52:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2494"},"modified":"2014-07-11T16:52:56","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T21:52:56","slug":"1-daughter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2494","title":{"rendered":"#1 Daughter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many of you probably feel like you know my family after following this blog for some time. \u00a0You have heard a great deal about MFH (My Favorite Husband) and #1 Son, but the other important person in our family is #1 Daughter. \u00a0The four of us, we make a good family!<\/p>\n<p>As with any other family, there were the super times and the not so super times. \u00a0The good thing about us, though, is that the not so super times have bonded us together in ways that not many other families can boast. \u00a0We are unique. \u00a0We are the snowflake of families. \u00a0Special. \u00a0At least we like to think that we are.<\/p>\n<p>When #1 Daughter and #1 Son finished their High School years, MFH and I packed up and left them in college in Colorado. \u00a0We moved to Mississippi. \u00a0Abandonment? \u00a0Not really. \u00a0More a matter of survival. \u00a0Colorado was hard on our family. \u00a0The kids were strong. \u00a0Resilient. \u00a0Young. \u00a0We were tired and ready for change and adventure. \u00a0It worked for us. \u00a0Still does!<\/p>\n<p>After 2 years, #1 Son finished up his AA degree in Colorado and decided to relocate to Mississippi for his 4 year degree. \u00a0Plus, I think he wanted to be closer to MFH and me.<\/p>\n<p>#1 Daughter had started working. \u00a0She had an apartment, roommate, cat, dog&#8230;She had become independent. \u00a0Good for her!<\/p>\n<p>Seeing as she was in Colorado and we were in Mississippi, we really did not have much of an opportunity to see her very often. \u00a0The easiest way to reach her was to text. \u00a0She worked a very demanding job. \u00a0Was always on the move.<\/p>\n<p>This past week, she asked if she could come down to visit for about 10 days. \u00a0We jumped at the offer! \u00a0We even bought her an airline ticket.<\/p>\n<p>She is visiting with us now and we are having a great time. \u00a0She is a super person. \u00a0It amazes me how you bring home this little baby from the hospital and in a short 26 years, they turn into a responsible and pretty awesome adult!<\/p>\n<p>The thing she is trying out during her visit with us is running. \u00a0Seeing as both MFH and runners, she thought she would give it a try. \u00a0I have lots of running gear so I gave her some. \u00a0She put on some stuff and while I was changing into my own running clothes so we could run, she hurried into the living room and ran up to MFH and said, &#8220;Look! \u00a0I look just like Mom!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wow! \u00a0I mean, she is 26 and she still is watching what I do. \u00a0Does a Mom ever stop being a Mom? \u00a0Will she always have the drive and desire to be like me? \u00a0That was a wake up call if there ever was one.<\/p>\n<p>So, #1 Daughter is here for probably another 4-5 days. \u00a0Depends on a few things. \u00a0We are hoarding our time with her.
