Paxton, my dog, just threw a humdinger of a tempertantrum. \u00a0It was a doozie!<\/p>\n
Paxton is kind of but not officially on a doggie diet. \u00a0He weighed in last week at the Vet’s office at a whopping 130 pounds. \u00a0He is a tall dog, but tall or not, that is too much weight for a Boxer.<\/p>\n
Paxton is on antibiotics and I am hiding them in those small cans of cat food. \u00a0He takes three pretty good sized pills two times a day. \u00a0Cat food is fattening so all he is getting is the two cans of cat food a day with his pills. \u00a0He is hungry. \u00a0Poor puppy!<\/p>\n
Here’s what happened:<\/p>\n
Loki, the bunny, snuck out of the solarium. \u00a0That is the room where he can hop around to his little hearts delight. \u00a0There are no electrical cords there for him to chew. \u00a0We put up a baby gate so he cannot get into the rest of the house. \u00a0That silly rabbit figured out how to get around the baby gate.<\/p>\n
I found Loki hopping around the living room. \u00a0He was having a great time~that is, until he noticed that I saw him. \u00a0He stopped mid hop and turned for the solarium. \u00a0Then he changed his mind! \u00a0He started hopping towards me. \u00a0His ears were held high. \u00a0He had on his, “I’m so happy so see you!” bunny face. \u00a0He was, quite simply, trying to worm his way into not being in trouble. \u00a0He was BUSTED and he knew it!<\/p>\n
Paxton is jealous of Loki. \u00a0I think it is because Loki likes me to hold him and cuddle him. \u00a0Paxton would like to do that, too, but he is just too big!<\/p>\n
Don’t get me wrong! \u00a0I play with Paxton a lot! \u00a0We go for walks, we talk to each other. \u00a0We play games with his traffic cone and old shoes. \u00a0Paxton is not hurting for attention but I think he feels threatened by that rabbit somehow.<\/p>\n
Anyway, I went over and swooped up Loki. \u00a0I said, “You silly rabbit! \u00a0What are you doing out here!?” \u00a0 Loki wiggled his nose and tried to look cute. \u00a0That is when Paxton noticed that I was holding Loki and we were NOT in the solarium and he could reach both of us! \u00a0(Paxton is afraid of going into the solarium. \u00a0Not sure why.)<\/p>\n
Loki was scared and Paxton was determined. \u00a0Loki wanted to bolt and I knew that if he did, I would get scratched to smithereens. \u00a0I called MFH (My Favorite Husband). \u00a0“Help!”<\/p>\n
MFH, of course, came right away. \u00a0He was muttering something about “…too many animals…” but he led the dog away.<\/p>\n
I put Loki back into the solarium. \u00a0As soon as I closed the baby gate, there was Paxton. \u00a0That’s when he lost it.<\/p>\n
BOW-WOW-WOW-WOW!!!!!!<\/p>\n
And he meant every. single. word. of it!<\/p>\n
This is what he said. “You love that rabbit more than you love me! \u00a0You hold him. \u00a0You don’t hold me! \u00a0You think he’s cute~but what about me!?! \u00a0AND~~~I’M HUNGRY!!! \u00a0Poor dog.<\/p>\n
