There is no other way to say it. \u00a0Today’s run was H.O.T.<\/p>\n
21 miles. \u00a090F. \u00a084% humidity. \u00a0I sweated away 6 pounds during that run. \u00a0I drank 6, 20oz bottles of Gatorade during the run. \u00a0I was a sweaty mess by the time I came back to the house.<\/p>\n
Since I got home, I have drank a TON! \u00a0I will work on getting that weight back on. \u00a0It usually takes me a few days to regain the lost water weight, but I do get it back before the next weeks long run.<\/p>\n
When I got home, Peter, my Rooster, heralded my arrival. \u00a0If the neighbors had not seen me coming down the road, he left not doubt in their minds that, yes, I was back from my run.<\/p>\n
Peter is such a tattle-tale!<\/p>\n
As a matter of fact, Peter, the Rooster and Paxton, my dog, are the biggest busy bodies on the entire street. \u00a0Between the two of them, we know exactly what is going on anywhere in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n
Peter let’s us know when anybody leaves their house and drives off. \u00a0Paxton, sits in front of our glass front door and watches intently. \u00a0He lets us know if anybody drives by, if there is a squirrel in the yard, if the trash collectors come, if the mail man comes, if the school bus drives by…..<\/p>\n
Animals are funny! \u00a0But they are not much help on a long run. That I have to do all. by. myself.<\/p>\n
Well, not all by myself. \u00a0MFH (My Favorite Husband) drives out on my longer runs and sets out water stops for me. \u00a0That is very sweet. \u00a0I think I’ll keep him \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0He is a huge supporter of my running goals! \u00a0He lets me go and buy a bacon cheeseburger on my long run days because a) I am too tired to cook and b) because I need the calories after a long run.<\/p>\n
