Hard to believe that I graduated from college 30 years ago last month. \u00a0The time has zoomed by!<\/p>\n
I’ll never forget graduation day. \u00a0My parents came (I think they felt obligated. \u00a0HA!). \u00a0I told them to just leave the motor on the car idling because as soon as I had that diploma, we were leaving. \u00a0We were going to beat the rush to get off campus.<\/p>\n
I went to a small Bible college in NE Pennsylvania. \u00a0It was a beautiful campus. \u00a0Everybody was required to have a Bible major and then you could select your second major. \u00a0So, in four years, I graduated with a double major: \u00a0Bachelor of Science in Bible and Elementary Education. \u00a0Yup. \u00a0I was an official school teacher.<\/p>\n
So, about 6 months ago, one of my friends from back in the day started up a FB page for the people who attended this college while we were there. \u00a0He is trying to get a reunion going for this October during Homecoming\/Parents Day Weekend. \u00a0Today was the official day to RSVP. \u00a0I looked at the dates.<\/p>\n
See, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I made a trip there about 4 years ago(?) to see the campus. \u00a0MFH had never been there before. \u00a0I had never been willing to go back. \u00a0He finally talked me into it. \u00a0We had a lovely, albeit quick, visit.<\/p>\n
I really was not all that interested in participating in this reunion weekend. \u00a0First off, it is a long ways from where we live and second, there are a few people I would rather not see again.<\/p>\n
Back to the dates. \u00a0Darn! \u00a0I have a conflict for that particular weekend! \u00a0I really feel bad about it, too (please note sarcasm), but that weekend I will be running the Chicago Marathon!<\/p>\n
YAY for the Chicago Marathon!!! \u00a0YAY! \u00a0YAY!! \u00a0YAY!!!<\/p>\n
I am here to tell you, I am looking forward to this Marathon now for more reasons than just because it is THE Chicago Marathon. \u00a0It is getting me out of my 30 year college reunion! \u00a0Bells and Whistles!<\/p>\n
But, then again, 30 years. \u00a0Am I supposed to feel old? \u00a0 HA!<\/p>\n
