MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I will have lived in Mississippi for 5 years this coming October. \u00a0When we had the move, I was a size 22-24. \u00a0My favorite store was Lane Bryant. \u00a0They have cute clothes!<\/p>\n
I primarily wore tent dresses and long denim skirts with turtle necks or baggy shirts. \u00a0I remember the day that I had just received my brand new size 24 denim skirt in the mail only to discover it was too tight. \u00a0It had an elastic waist.<\/p>\n
About 10 years before that, I had been a much smaller size. \u00a00’s a few 2’s but mostly 0’s. \u00a0Life happened. \u00a0I got sick….the weight flew on~FAST! \u00a0The next thing I knew, I was holding up this size 24 skirt that was too small. \u00a0Bad.<\/p>\n
Again, things happen, my health began to improve. \u00a0 I started to lose the weight, just a little bit at a time.<\/p>\n
Here it is, almost 5 years later and I pulled my summer shorts and tanks out of the closet, preparing for the toasty weather to come, only to discover that my old standby’s were too big! \u00a0Awesome!<\/p>\n
The only place to shop (for the most part) in my town is WalMart. \u00a0The smallest thing they carry is a 4. \u00a0I had a few pair of their shorts but they never really fit well. \u00a0Baggy.<\/p>\n
Today, #1 son and I went to Tupelo, Mississippi for a shopping trip. \u00a0Our goal was a Father’s Day present for MFH. \u00a0We purchased what we went for (yay us~we haven’t given it to him yet, so I can’t tell you what it is) and then, I HAD to stop at my all time favorite store, The Loft. \u00a0Love that place! \u00a0They had sent me an email this morning that all their summer shorts were 50% off…had to see for myself.<\/p>\n
I walked in and was accosted by a sales lady. \u00a0I am used to that. \u00a0They do that there. \u00a0Anyway, she helped my find some shorts. \u00a0She started me on a size 4. \u00a0I tried them on. \u00a0Too big. \u00a0Size 2. \u00a0Too big. \u00a0The size 0’s fit perfect! \u00a0It was like Cinderella and her glass slipper!<\/p>\n
What a wonderful feeling! \u00a0I do not weight nearly the itty bitty bit that I weighed last time I wore this size and you know what? \u00a0That doesn’t matter! \u00a0Really, the size doesn’t matter either, I am the same person I was at size 24 as I am at a 0. \u00a0But, it really did make my day!!!<\/p>\n
