Every evening I have some medication the Doctor would like me to take. \u00a0As a rule, I am a very compliant patient and take it as directed. \u00a0Last night was no exception.<\/p>\n
As I have been training for this Ultra, I have lost 18 pounds. \u00a0When the Doctor placed me on this medication, I weighed, I would venture to guess, 50-75 pounds more than what I weigh now. \u00a0Hmmm….I think it is time to adjust the dosage.<\/p>\n
Usually, these meds make me a bit “fuzzy.” \u00a0This is normal. \u00a0At least I think it is. \u00a0Last night was not normal. \u00a0Maybe I was just overly tired from that big run, but I have had big runs before. \u00a0I don’t know…<\/p>\n
Anyway, I fell asleep right away. \u00a0This is good! \u00a0About 30-45 minutes later, I woke up incredibly uncomfortable!<\/p>\n
My lips and my tongue felt like somebody was holding a match or a lighter to them! \u00a0Ouch! \u00a0Oh my goodness but that hurt! \u00a0Burning!!! \u00a0Yikes!!!<\/p>\n
MFH (My Favorite Husband) had gone into the solarium to talk to #1 son so I was alone in the bedroom. \u00a0I got up to go get him only to find I could barely walk. \u00a0I was staggering all over the place. I called out for MFH who came right away. \u00a0He had to help me back to the bed.<\/p>\n
My face was hot. \u00a0The burning feeling was getting worse. \u00a0It was awful. \u00a0It hurt so bad I was rocking back and forth. \u00a0It was the only thing I could do!<\/p>\n
MFH brought me ice. \u00a0I chewed it up. \u00a0He brought me cold water. \u00a0We tried everything! \u00a0Nothing seemed to help. \u00a0I think he was getting frantic. \u00a0I was having a difficult time talking coherently. \u00a0What a mess. \u00a0Finally, I feel asleep, exhausted. \u00a0I don’t know how long he stayed awake.<\/p>\n
This morning, we had a chat. \u00a0It had been a scary evening. \u00a0Right away, I got on the phone to the Doctor. \u00a0I told him, “Dude, this is not going to work. \u00a0Fix it.” \u00a0He has me lowering my dose a bit at a time until we find that happy medium.<\/p>\n
Who knows what tonight will hold? \u00a0Hopefully, not any more of that! \u00a0What an awful experience!<\/p>\n
