It was mowing day again today. \u00a0Right now I have only been mowing once a week but I really need to accelerate that to two times a week. \u00a0The grass is growing like crazy! \u00a0It was too long this morning, really, and it doesn’t look as nice as it could due to the length of the grass clippings. \u00a0I COULD bag my clippings but I am not that motivated, I am afraid.<\/p>\n
It was 90F. 62% humidity when I began my mowing today. \u00a0Toasty. \u00a0I was actually a bit chilly when I began. \u00a0I had gotten my hair cut earlier in the day and I swear they had the A\/C up as cold as it could go! \u00a0Brrrr!!!! So, it felt good to get out into the warm air.<\/p>\n
As I started mowing, I would say it took maybe three passes on the property before I began sweating and it never stopped. \u00a0I told myself to enjoy being on the mower because tomorrow it was supposed to be in the mid 90’s and I was going to be running in it. \u00a0Enjoy the luxury of just sitting.<\/p>\n
The plum trees were a bust this year. \u00a0MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I did not see one single bloom on them this Spring. \u00a0Last year, we had tons of blossoms and lots of fruit on those trees. \u00a0As I was mowing around that thicket, I did not see one. single. plum. \u00a0I did, however, too late, see the Poison Ivy. \u00a0RATS. \u00a0I drove right through it. \u00a0Bummer, that. \u00a0Huh? \u00a0I expect I will break out here in a little bit.<\/p>\n
The bees were in a good mood today. I think the grouchy hive may have swarmed and gone bye-bye. \u00a0Gee, that would make me so sad (please note sarcasm). \u00a0That hive as been a pain in the patoot for years! \u00a0I think I may throw a farewell party for those bees! \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n
The chickens were panting and holding their wings out from their sides as I went by. \u00a0I was not surprised to see this. \u00a0I took a break and went into the house and made them some ice water. \u00a0They were very happy to see me come with it! \u00a0Those chickens crack me up!<\/p>\n
One of my MFP friends asked me how you can burn calories by sitting on a riding mower. \u00a0Search me! \u00a0All I know is that I weighed two pounds less when I came in from mowing. \u00a0I know that it was just water loss from sweating but apparently you get some calories for effort!? \u00a0 I think someday I will ask the MFP gods how they determine the calories burned for a riding mower. \u00a0Good question!<\/p>\n
Well, I am starting to itch. \u00a0Time to hunt down some Poison Ivy stuff. \u00a0Tomorrow, long run is scheduled. \u00a023 miles on tap. \u00a0It’s going to be uber hot and humid and I am more than a little bit apprehensive about that run. \u00a0Fingers crossed!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
