Paxton is my pudgy pooch. \u00a0We found out this past week that he now weighs the same as me. \u00a0Time for a doggy diet!<\/p>\n
Last Summer, Paxton got some thinning spots in his coat. \u00a0We (MFH and I) took him to the vet. \u00a0I wanted to make sure he did not have any mites or mange or thyroid problems. \u00a0I felt we needed to dot our i’s and cross our t’s because he does get boarded a lot.<\/p>\n
Off we went to the vet.<\/p>\n
Paxton loves going to the vet. \u00a0I am not being sarcastic. \u00a0He really does love it! \u00a0He greets everybody there. \u00a0Mr. Enthusiasm. \u00a0He is a wiggly and very happy puppy.<\/p>\n
We got into a little room and the Dr decided to do a skin scraping. \u00a0Paxton is okay with anything they do to him UNTIL they come at him with anything resembling a sharp instrument, be that a razor (in this case) or a needle for shots. \u00a0Then the room turns into Lake Paxton.<\/p>\n
Paxton cannot “hold his water.” \u00a0He pees everywhere. Profusely. \u00a0One time, for his heartworm test, they finally took him to the parking lot to draw the blood. \u00a0He peed all over the place…3 separate times. \u00a0It was rather traumatic for poor Paxton. \u00a0I was afraid he might end up dehydrated after that. \u00a0What a sissy he is!<\/p>\n
Paxton’s tests for the skin scraping, thyroid, diabetes, mange, mites…all came back negative. \u00a0He just really, really sheds a lot. \u00a0In the winter, it all grows back. \u00a0Strange.<\/p>\n
This year, his receding hairline is including both of his sides and his back! \u00a0We must be in for a hot Summer. \u00a0I have never seen a dog shed in this manner.<\/p>\n
So, now my pudgy puppy is a pudgy, balding puppy. \u00a0But he is still cute!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
