{"id":2351,"date":"2014-04-09T16:06:42","date_gmt":"2014-04-09T21:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2351"},"modified":"2014-04-09T16:06:42","modified_gmt":"2014-04-09T21:06:42","slug":"inquisitive-little-old-lady","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2351","title":{"rendered":"Inquisitive Little Old Lady"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s run was AWESOME!!!<\/p>\n<p>I ran the route I described to you yesterday. \u00a0It turned out to be 16 miles. \u00a0I was averaging 11:30 on the North side of the Frontage Road but my pace fell off on the bridge and the South side of the Frontage Road ramp. \u00a0That ramp is tough!<\/p>\n<p>All in all a successful run today. \u00a0My knee feels great and my toes held together. \u00a0What a relief!<\/p>\n<p>MFH (My Favorite Husband) had a water stop for me at the airport exit of the North side of the Frontage Road. \u00a0It had some Gu&#8217;s, Advil (my best friend), fresh socks, liquid skin&#8230;all sorts of goodies!<\/p>\n<p>On my return trip, I stopped at the water stop for fresh socks. \u00a0I was developing a hot spot on the ball of my foot and thought, &#8220;Why not!?!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was balancing on one foot, putting on the fresh sock when this little old lady pulls up next to me. \u00a0Now, I was WAY off the road. \u00a0She made an effort to reach me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What are you doing up here?&#8221; she asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ma&#8217;am, I am changing my socks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why?&#8221; Asked the lady.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because they are sweaty and I wanted fresh socks.&#8221; I replied.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are you running?&#8221; she asked again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes, Ma&#8217;am.&#8221; \u00a0I answered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How far are you running?&#8221; She asked.<\/p>\n<p>Right about now, I am thinking to myself, &#8220;Lady, I don&#8217;t have all day&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I replied, &#8220;16 miles today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are you running a marathon or something?&#8221; she practically accused me.<\/p>\n<p>Not wanting to have to explain, I simply replied, &#8216;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then she drove off.<\/p>\n<p>Off I went for the last six miles of my run. \u00a0I got as far as a medical clinic when a car pulled out. \u00a0A lady rolled down her window.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Didn&#8217;t I just see you a while ago in an orange shirt?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking to myself, &#8220;Uh, boy, here we go again!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes, Ma&#8217;am, you did.&#8221; I answered.<\/p>\n<p>Well, where is your shirt?&#8221; she asked.<\/p>\n<p>I answered, &#8220;I got hot and took it off.&#8221; \u00a0(I was running in just a sports bra and shorts at this time and feeling suddenly very exposed.).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I see you running out here all the time.&#8221; \u00a0She told me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes, Ma&#8217;am.&#8221; \u00a0I said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How long you been running today, Girl.&#8221; she asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;About three hours.&#8221; I answered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;LAWD!&#8221; she exclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes. Ma&#8217;am.&#8221; I said. \u00a0What else can you say to that!?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You be careful! \u00a0This be a busy road!&#8221; And with that she drove off.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of my run went smoothly. \u00a0I made it all the way to the Shell station without any more conversations. \u00a0I did carry my shirt with me and put it back on when I got to the station. \u00a0(Lots of construction guys frequent the station and I thought it best to cover up a bit. \u00a0Call me a sissy.)<\/p>\n<p>After arriving at the Shell station, I called MFH who promptly came and picked me up. \u00a0We retrieved the water stop and came home and I have been eating non-stop ever since!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s run was AWESOME!!!
