My goodness!<\/p>\n
Last Wednesday I ran the North side of the Frontage Road for the first time. \u00a0I had a great run! \u00a0Due to the fact that I was unfamiliar with the traffic pattern on that road, I ran on the white line the entire 12+ miles. \u00a0That is no big deal, except that there is quite the crown to that road.<\/p>\n
When I finished that run, my right knee was uncomfortable. \u00a0Also, I had four very unhappy toenails. \u00a0Rats. \u00a0But that is the name of the game sometimes.<\/p>\n
Because of the sore toenails, I slept on top of the covers for three nights with a separate blanket on top of me. \u00a0That way, I did not have the pressure of the sheets and blankets pressing on my feet and I could sleep better. \u00a0 Plus, the toenails would heal faster.<\/p>\n
The knee however, did not snap back like I would have liked. \u00a0I continued to run with it. \u00a0The very next day, I ran that same Frontage Road and stayed on the white line. \u00a0How dumb can I get??? \u00a0The knee was more irritated and I ended up with a humdinger of a blister on that foot to boot. \u00a0Compensation for the sore knee.<\/p>\n
I used some liquid skin on the blister and switched roads. \u00a0Added a knee strap for the knee. \u00a0Took some Advil and sucked it up.<\/p>\n
That liquid skin stuff works great!<\/p>\n
The four toenails bit the dust today. \u00a0All four came off. \u00a0Oh well, nail polish on the skin will do the trick there. \u00a0The blister is healed. \u00a0The knee is still tricky~AND I have a long run scheduled for tomorrow.<\/p>\n
I thought about running the old highway for tomorrow but they took out the bridges~I cannot jump that far \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0The old highway is out. \u00a0That leaves the Frontage Road.<\/p>\n
So, tomorrow morning, I will run the North side of the Frontage Road going down the middle of that road. \u00a0I will move for traffic but doggone it, I need my knees! \u00a0Because of how far I need to go, I will go as far as the airport exit. \u00a0Then I will have to cross the bridge going over Highway 82 and run the South side of the Frontage Road.<\/p>\n
Why cross the bridge? \u00a0Because the North side only goes as far as the airport exit.<\/p>\n
I will cross the bridge, go down the ramp to the South side of the Frontage Road for a couple more miles, turn around, cross the bridge, and finish up again on the North side to the Shell Station, hop into my car (like a bunny, HA!) and drive home.<\/p>\n
Sure hope this works and my knees are happy and my lack of toenails do not cause me any problems. \u00a0Advil is my friend.<\/p>\n
