Ran the Frontage Road with my “buddy” this morning. \u00a0We were supposed to run the Frontage Road yesterday but that was not meant to be. \u00a0Due to the days delay in our run, she was unable to do the entire run with me.<\/p>\n
With every intention of finishing the run when I came home, well,
\nthe best laid plans of mice and men”…It did not happen.<\/p>\n
See, my son was supposed to begin a new job today. \u00a0That meant he wanted me to make sure he was up by 4:30 am. \u00a0I set my alarm and woke him up and fixed breakfast. \u00a0He took off for his new job and I fiddled around the house for a few hours before it was time to be off for my run.<\/p>\n
My friend met me at the gas station and we set off along that Frontage Road. \u00a0Boy, was it windy! \u00a0We were getting blown all over the place and the traffic was brisk, too.<\/p>\n
On the shoulder of the road, back on the asphalt, back on the shoulder….the drivers this morning were distracted. \u00a0Coffee in one hand, phone in the other. \u00a0I am not sure how they were steering. \u00a0We had to be on our toes.<\/p>\n
We got to the turn around and headed back. \u00a0The wind had been pushing us pretty hard on the way out and on the way back, we, of course, were running straight into it. \u00a0Wow! \u00a0That was tough work!<\/p>\n
Finally, we made it back to the gas station, feeling rather pleased with ourselves. \u00a0We had run a nine minute mile!!! \u00a0Averaged 10 minute miles for most of the run. \u00a0Kudos to us!!! \u00a0We were beat. \u00a0That wind was brutal.<\/p>\n
Anyway, we parted ways and I drove home with every intention of finishing that run. \u00a0My husband took one look at me and told me to go back to bed. \u00a0I did not argue. \u00a0I just now got up. \u00a0The wind is stronger now than it was earlier and I just do not have it in me to face that wind again.<\/p>\n
Call me a sissy.<\/p>\n
So, tomorrow, I will make up the difference with what I was supposed to run today and tomorrows run. \u00a0Those miles are not going to run themselves, you know! \u00a0I am getting old. \u00a0Naw~ that cannot be it \u00a0 \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
