The baby chickens have made it two nights with the grown up chickens so I declare them moved out of the house~YAY!!!<\/p>\n
They did open the new highway to traffic this morning around 9:00 am. \u00a0This is a sad morning for me as I have lost my favorite long run route. \u00a0BUT~ MFH (My Favorite Husband) went to our local pawn\/gun shop and purchased a canister of pepper spray for me.<\/p>\n
I will be doing a large majority of long runs, well any run for that matter, on secluded rural roads. \u00a0After last weeks encounter with the Great Danes and a couple of previous encounters with coyotes, we decided that I should probably run with some type of protection. \u00a0Enter pepper spray.<\/p>\n
The pepper spray he bought me is 10%. \u00a0You can purchase some watered down stuff at WalMart, etc that is only 2% but I figured that if I needed it, I wanted it to work! \u00a0So, 10% it is.<\/p>\n
It is pink!<\/p>\n
I usually am not one to look at “feminine” colors or anything like that, but this is kinda cute! \u00a0It has a Velcro strap to go around your wrist. \u00a0Hands free running that way. \u00a0It should not get in the way of my carry water bottle.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow, I will carry it on my run. \u00a0I do not have a huge run tomorrow, but the run where I encountered those dogs was not a huge run either. \u00a0Safety first!<\/p>\n
Of course, the Pawn Shop carries guns and they had a cute .38 snub nose revolver. \u00a0How do you run and carry a gun!?! \u00a0No thank you. \u00a0I would probably shoot off my foot. \u00a0 I do know you can get sports bras with holsters but that sounds very, very uncomfortable. \u00a0Nope, I’ll stick with the pepper spray.<\/p>\n
So, to those of you who have been telling me to purchase the pepper spray, hopefully you will be content in the knowledge that I DO listen and I DID do something about it. \u00a0Thanks for all your kind words and expressing your concern about me running alone.<\/p>\n
