{"id":230,"date":"2012-06-10T18:30:26","date_gmt":"2012-06-10T18:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=230"},"modified":"2012-06-10T18:30:26","modified_gmt":"2012-06-10T18:30:26","slug":"diet-and-sundays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=230","title":{"rendered":"Diet and Sunday&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a0Rest Day<\/p>\n<p>Today is Sunday and a day of rest. \u00a0The week preceding a Sunday is a frantic week, chock full of errands, cleaning, cooking and exercise. \u00a0Sunday is my day of rest. \u00a0Yes, the floors always need swept and the kitchen always needs thoroughly scrubbed but after all it is Sunday and that is a day of rest.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me to diet. \u00a0I am very strict about what I eat in that it is low in fat and carbohydrates. \u00a0Basically, I follow a Diabetic diet (for reasons we will not go into here) and therefore am able to eat anything that is not nailed down, as long as it is diabetic friendly. \u00a0I have many Diabetic cook books that have a lot of surprisingly tasty recipes! \u00a0Yummy!!!<\/p>\n<p>Why can I eat so much? \u00a0Because of the active lifestyle chosen. \u00a0On Monday, Wednesday and Fridays (if you have followed this blog for any amount of time) I lift at the local &#8220;Y&#8221;. \u00a0On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I run (average 20 miles per week). \u00a0This activity level allows me to eat, a lot!<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me back to today. \u00a0Today is Sunday and a day of rest! \u00a0Age is creeping up on me and I just cannot maintain the level of activity that would entail working out seven days a week. \u00a0I am probably pushing the envelope with what I do right now. \u00a0But I believe the saying goes: &#8220;If you don&#8217;t use it, &#8216;ya lose it!&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Y&#8221; has a program for the month of June called &#8220;Mile-A-Day Marathon&#8221; where you try to walk\/run one mile a day for the entire month to equal the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles). \u00a0I extend this program to you as a challenge. \u00a0Can you walk enough miles this month (just a couple each day, just to catch up!) to equal this distance? \u00a0If you accept my challenge and keep record and show it to me, I might be persuaded to make up a T-shirt for participation! \u00a0Just like in a real race! \u00a0What do you have to lose?!? \u00a0Go for it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a0Rest Day Today is Sunday and a day of rest. \u00a0The week preceding a Sunday is a frantic week, chock full of errands, cleaning, cooking and exercise. \u00a0Sunday is my day of rest. \u00a0Yes, the floors always need swept and the kitchen always needs thoroughly scrubbed but after all it is Sunday and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[4,6,8,3],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=230"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":231,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/230\/revisions\/231"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=230"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=230"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=230"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
