More. Month.

Can you believe it!?!

I see him again on March 7th.

I am glad that February is a short month. The time until my next appointment will be a few days shorter due to that. I console myself with that fact.

Until then, I hobble around the house.

MFH has been a HUGE help! He has been taking care of the outdoors chickens for me. *Shhhh….he is leaving on a business trip. I will be walking around sans crutches to take are of said chickens while he is gone. Cannot take care of those chickens (carrying buckets of stuff and relocating the tractor) while on crutches.*

The baby chickens are starting to grow in their “Big Birdie Feathers!” They look awful!!! HA! Talk about the “Ugly Duckling” stage of chickendom 🙂 They are soooo funny!

They baby chickens have learned what “Bedtime for Birdies” means. They, for the most part, hop up on their perch to roost for the night while I cover their pen with an old, fabric shower curtain.

Why do I cover them???

Because, I learned the hard way that they can fly!!! Those stinkers were on my high bookshelves one night when MFH and I came home from running errands. Ever since then, whenever I leave the house or when it is “Bedtime for Birdies,” they get covered.

They used to absolutely flip out when I would cover them. Now, they do not mind in the least. Chickens are so funny!

MFH moved the outdoor chickens for me this morning. They knew that they were going to be moved and lined up, as nice as you please, at the front of the tractor and marched right along with MFH as he relocated the tractor. They love doing that. “Cluck, Cluck, Cluck,” they say as they march along.

The outdoor chickens have been laying well these past few weeks! I am averaging 4 eggs a day from 7 hens. That is not too bad. You will be seeing me eating a lot more eggs now that they are laying well. (The funny thing is, I do not care for eggs. That is why I use Tabasco sauce. It hides the taste of the eggs! HA!)

Goodness! How did we get on the topic of Chickens!?! We started out talking about crutches. See what happens when you get me talking!

Well, before you get me talking about the price of the tea in China or something else of that nature, I will sign off.

Crutches.
