{"id":2217,"date":"2014-02-06T13:43:38","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T19:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2217"},"modified":"2014-02-06T13:45:49","modified_gmt":"2014-02-06T19:45:49","slug":"slugburgers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2217","title":{"rendered":"Slugburgers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am going to get to try a Slugburger this May 2, 2014. \u00a0I think I am excited???<\/p>\n<p>There is only one town in the world that serves Slugburgers. \u00a0Corinth, Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p>MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I will be in Corinth, Mississippi, that evening and the next day for a 10K race, the Coke Classic 10K. \u00a0It is The Best 10K in Mississippi~and I should know, I have run quite a few of them.<\/p>\n<p>The Coke 10K has great water stops. \u00a0Great fans. \u00a0Live bands. \u00a0Great food afterwards and Super, Super medals! \u00a0Awesome race!<\/p>\n<p>But a Slugburger?<\/p>\n<p>I have a friend who MFH and I will be meeting when we arrive in Corinth on May 2nd. \u00a0He has recommended the Slugburger Cafe as THE place to go for Slugburgers. \u00a0I hope by now you are curious as to what makes a Slugburger a Slugburger.<\/p>\n<p>During the Depression years, diner cooks sought to stretch ground beef to get more burgers per pound. Originally these hamburgers were made using potato flour as an extender. Today, the beef mixture\u00a0contains soybean grits.\u00a0The slugburger is made into small patties, which are fried in canola oil.
