Last Summer, our air conditioner decided to quit working. \u00a0More than once. \u00a0Actually, in the 4 1\/2 years we have lived in this house, we have had to have the Freon refilled twice each year. \u00a0We have had the fan replaced and various and other sundry parts. \u00a0At the end of this past Summer, it decided enough was enough and it quit. \u00a0End of discussion.<\/p>\n
This was bad.<\/p>\n
Summers in Mississippi get toasty. \u00a0And humid. \u00a0One day this past Summer the air conditioner decided to quit on a 105 F. day. \u00a0Our air conditioner guy was not too terribly prompt in coming out. \u00a0That was the day we switched repair men. \u00a0Our new guy did a good job. \u00a0He was johnny on the spot. \u00a0He was prompt and reasonable priced. \u00a0He “retired.” \u00a0Rats.<\/p>\n
When the unit died at the end of last Summer, we knew the time had come. \u00a0We HAD to replace the unit. \u00a0Glub. \u00a0That was not going to come cheap. \u00a0This Winter we dived in on the project (along with a million other projects on which we are working) and today we received our final quote on replacing our entire Air Conditioner and Heater system with a Heat Pump.<\/p>\n
Our Utility Company offers incentives and funding for this type of project. \u00a0So, we checked into that. \u00a0We qualified. \u00a0We are working with the Utility Company. \u00a0Whew!<\/p>\n
MFH and I have decided which quote we want to accept and today, we are going to sign on the dotted line. \u00a0Hopefully, by the end of the week (Fingers crossed) we will have a new Heat Pump, new blown insulation, new Duct work, etc. installed and a warm toasty house for the remainder of the Winter and a nice Cool house this Summer! \u00a0Cool Beans!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
