Today, FINALLY, MFH let me begin construction on our Facebook page and linking it to our web page.<\/p>\n
I am so excited!!!<\/p>\n
For those of you who have missed the story…<\/p>\n
Back in September, we discovered that the FCC was opening a window that had been closed for 12 years, for people to apply to own\/operate a Low Power FM radio station. \u00a0You had to be a non-profit to be allowed to participate in this window.<\/p>\n
We thought and thought. \u00a0What could we do???<\/p>\n
We both are a tad discouraged about the literacy rate in the area in which we live. \u00a0We decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to do something about it and Classic Book Radio Corporation was born. \u00a0We are a real live, honest to God, non-profit agency.<\/p>\n
The next step was to apply. \u00a0Red tape all over the place! \u00a0But we made it through and were accepted! \u00a0Cool Beans!<\/p>\n
Yesterday, in the mail, we received our permission to use the Call Sign for our radio station…WMFH-LP. \u00a0The W and MFH (My Favorite Husband), and the LP is for Low Power.<\/p>\n
We are now in the “Construction” phase of our station. \u00a0The nuts and bolts of putting this together. \u00a0But first things first~\u00a0Social Media and Web Page construction. \u00a0Our web page I mentioned in a blog post last week. \u00a0If you want, you can go take a look. \u00a0The address is: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.wmfhlp.org\/<\/p>\n
Today, I have been working on the Facebook page. \u00a0https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wmfhlp \u00a0If you really, really want to help, you could take a sec and give us a “Like” on Facebook. \u00a0That would be awesome!!!<\/p>\n
This week, we are going to finalize our Kickstarter page. \u00a0This is important. \u00a0This is where the rubber meets the road. \u00a0This is the beg-a-thon page. \u00a0Fundraising. \u00a0Kickstarter is a page where you introduce people to your page and offer incentives for contributing. \u00a0We are in the process of logo designs for T-shirts, jackets, car decals, etc. \u00a0Those will be offered as incentives\/prizes for helping us reach our fundraising goal.<\/p>\n
The kicker with Kickstarter~if you do not reach your fundraising goal, you do not get one red cent. \u00a0Yikes! \u00a0We are very nervous about this. \u00a0BUT~we have to have the money so we can purchase the transmitter and antenna. \u00a0Without those items, we cannot go on the air. \u00a0Please, keep your fingers crossed for us.<\/p>\n
That is where things stand as of now on the radio front.<\/p>\n
On the running front…<\/p>\n
I might, MIGHT, get to get off my crutches and beginning running again on the 14th. \u00a0That would be AWESOME!!! \u00a0I have set a goal of 75 miles for the month of February. \u00a0That would give me two weeks or so to get those miles run. \u00a0I THINK I can do it, if I get off the crutches by the 14th.<\/p>\n
All sorts of things going on! \u00a0Never a dull moment in the Howard household. \u00a0The baby chickens are growing by leaps and bounds. \u00a0A am pretty sure that one of the babies is a rooster. \u00a0I need a rooster name. \u00a0An Easterish rooster name. \u00a0Thinking caps on!<\/p>\n
The dog is, well, a dog, as well as the cats. \u00a0The bunny, Loki is really doing well! \u00a0We are happy to see him enjoying the run of the back room. \u00a0He nibbles on my woodwork~not popular. \u00a0He is a cute and fuzzy termite! \u00a0But he is enjoying having a lot more room to hop.<\/p>\n
