{"id":216,"date":"2012-06-07T01:30:48","date_gmt":"2012-06-07T01:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=216"},"modified":"2012-06-07T01:30:48","modified_gmt":"2012-06-07T01:30:48","slug":"our-old-ford-is-not-a-beauty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=216","title":{"rendered":"Our Old Ford Is Not A Beauty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a060 min lifting at the &#8220;Y&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;Our old Ford, our dear old Ford, though it&#8217;s a wreck, it&#8217;s all we can afford&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Back in High School we did a skit and two classmates sang this song in front of a pic an old Ford car. \u00a0It looked like it was on its last legs. \u00a0Well, we have a Ford, too. \u00a0It is a 1985, F150, long bed pick-up truck. \u00a0My husband picked it up at an auction for $800.00. \u00a0After we put in a new engine, brakes, tires&#8230;it has turned into a reliable vehicle. \u00a0We use it for hauling stuff and we let the neighbors use it, too. \u00a0It is a nice &#8220;get to know your neighbor&#8221;\u00a0vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The only real tricky thing left regarding this truck (aside from the transmission) is the fuel gauge. \u00a0It has been in our experience that if the gauge says E is really means 1\/2 full. \u00a0But when it gets to the big red E, we fill it up anyway. \u00a0It makes us feel better.<\/p>\n<p>Today, my Son and I left town to go to Starkville (about 20 miles away) and the gauge said that we had a 1\/4 tank of gas. \u00a0No problem! \u00a0And away we went. Got to Starkville, ran our errand and started home. \u00a0Got two blocks and the truck starting singing to us, &#8220;Sputter, sputter, spit, sputter&#8221;. \u00a0Oh-oh! \u00a0We had actually run out of gas! \u00a0Can you believe it!?!
