Today’s Run: \u00a07.80 miles<\/p>\n
It was a chilly, overcast, drizzly morning with a North wind. \u00a0It was 39 F. \u00a0I did not think I needed a jacket or running tights for this morning’s run. \u00a0I THINK I was right. \u00a0Seeing as I have been done with my run for 4 hours and am still chilling, I am not so sure. \u00a0I ran in shorts and a long sleeved tech shirt. \u00a0That should have been enough for 39 F. \u00a0Must have been that North wind that got me…but that is not what we are here to talk about today, we are here to discuss this coming Friday. Friday, the 13th!<\/p>\n
What is the big deal about Friday the 13th!? \u00a0Everybody knows it is a bad luck day. \u00a0Do not break any mirrors, walk under any ladders or cross paths with a black cat…Good thing I am not superstitious because we have two cats, one of which is black (the other one is white. \u00a0The black cat is the mama of the white cat. \u00a0Go figure.) \u00a0This Friday the 13th, it will be a special day. \u00a0It will be Christmas!<\/p>\n
What!?! \u00a0Christmas is on December 25th.<\/p>\n
That is true, but…my sister and her family will be travelling to spend the holiday with her in-laws. \u00a0That means they will not be in Mississippi on Christmas Day. \u00a0We are getting together to do Christmas with her family and my parents on, you guessed it, Friday, the 13th.<\/p>\n
My sister has three children ages 15, 12 and 9. \u00a0Christmas is still a big deal for them. \u00a0It would not be a good thing to make the kids miss out on the family gathering, so, this Friday is Christmas! \u00a0I cannot wait!!!<\/p>\n
I love giving gifts. \u00a0I love watching the faces of the recipient to see if they like it or if they are unimpressed. \u00a0Does not matter either way with me, I love the giving regardless.<\/p>\n
Last year we gave each of the kids $40.00…all in $2.00 bills. \u00a0They had never seen a $2.00 bill before and were not too sure if it was real money or not. \u00a0Once they were assured it was real, then they had to count it out. \u00a0It was interesting to see who could and could not count by two’s. \u00a0They all did a pretty good job. \u00a0They had good incentive to see just how much money they had received!<\/p>\n
This year they are getting a present. \u00a0Hope they are not too disappointed. \u00a0I wanted to give them money again, in silver dollars. \u00a0Those are a hassle to spend because nobody uses them much anymore, so a gift it is.<\/p>\n
I still do not have a gift for MFH (My Favorite Husband). \u00a0Suggestions are most welcome! \u00a0We will be doing our gift exchange on Christmas Day~after I run my scheduled 24 miles. \u00a0Ugh. \u00a0I still have a couple of weeks to dream something up for him.<\/p>\n
Has anybody else ever celebrated Christmas on Friday the 13th? \u00a0Is this a first!? \u00a0It sure is for me. \u00a0Looking forward to it!! \u00a0We will give the kids their gifts, eat BBQ and enjoy each others company. \u00a0Should be a lovely evening.<\/p>\n
