{"id":2075,"date":"2013-12-01T15:06:41","date_gmt":"2013-12-01T21:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2075"},"modified":"2013-12-01T15:06:41","modified_gmt":"2013-12-01T21:06:41","slug":"values","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2075","title":{"rendered":"Values"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a08.00 miles<\/p>\n<p>My husband and I have been having an ongoing discussion lately about values today, or should I say lack of values. \u00a0We have come to the conclusion that at the ripe old age of 51 we are fuddy duddys.<\/p>\n<p>I read earlier this afternoon a question regarding living together before marriage. \u00a0I was super surprised at the number of people who thought that living together before marriage was the &#8220;norm&#8221; and whole heartedly endorsed it!<\/p>\n<p>Having been married 28+ years~back in the day when we were engaged and planning our wedding, people would have been aghast if we even entertained the idea of &#8220;shacking up&#8221;. \u00a0Back then, sleeping together before marriage was such a huge taboo that no-one &#8220;did&#8221; it~or admitted to it.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the question is, &#8220;Do I put out on the first date or wait until the second?&#8221; \u00a0Come on! \u00a0That leaves nothing!!! \u00a0Nothing to wait for~to anticipate~to have as something special&#8230;I am sputtering.<\/p>\n<p>I will be personal here for a moment. \u00a028 years ago was a long time ago, I realize that, but my husband and I made the decision together to wait. \u00a0It was worth the wait! \u00a0Well worth it. \u00a0Probably the hardest thing we have ever done but we would make that decision again in a heartbeat.<\/p>\n<p>If you have done it all, what is left for the honeymoon? \u00a0Oh. \u00a0I forgot. \u00a0People live together first. \u00a0Try things out. \u00a0See if they are compatible. \u00a0Nothing is worth waiting for, I guess. \u00a0Special things are not special anymore. \u00a0That is sad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a08.00 miles My husband and I have been having an ongoing discussion lately about values today, or should I say lack of values. \u00a0We have come to the conclusion that at the ripe old age of 51 we are fuddy duddys.
