Today’s Run: \u00a08.72 miles<\/p>\n
I need new running shoes. \u00a0I know I have been needing them for a while but have been hesitant to buy them…running shoes are expensive!<\/p>\n
Usually I order all my running shoes\/accessories from roadrunnersports.com. \u00a0They have been good to me when I have needed to make returns, etc. \u00a0I enjoy(?) doing business with them.<\/p>\n
At the end of last week I called road runner sports and placed an order for my shoes. \u00a0They were discontinued!?! \u00a0Oh NO!!! \u00a0BUT, they had the bigger and better version of my shoe. \u00a0Would I be interested in trying those. \u00a0“Sure.” \u00a0I replied. \u00a0“Why not.”<\/p>\n
I had been waiting and my shoes did not arrive. \u00a0That’s strange! \u00a0Usually my order is here in three days. \u00a0What is up with that!?! \u00a0I checked my email and the shoes will not be shipped until November 29. \u00a0Oh, boy…that is way too long to wait! \u00a0My feet and knees were already very unhappy. \u00a0This would not do.<\/p>\n
I got on the phone and called around the state to the different shoe stores. \u00a0People had the shoe but not in my size. \u00a0I am a 6 1\/2 wide. \u00a0Hmmm…I finally called a great little shoe store called Trails and Treads in Tupelo, Mississippi.<\/p>\n
“No”. \u00a0They did not carry the wide width. \u00a0Why do not people stock wide widths? \u00a0Not everybody has skinny feet! \u00a0But wait!<\/p>\n
“Oh! \u00a0We have one pair, 6 1\/2 wide, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 on the clearance table. \u00a050% off.” \u00a0I was thrilled!<\/p>\n
“Will you hold them for me? \u00a0I live an hour away.”<\/p>\n
“Sure!” was their reply.<\/p>\n
After a quick trip to Starkville, Mississippi, to pick up my mom (I like company when I drive) we hurried up north to Tupelo, Mississippi where I purchased the running shoes! \u00a0I wore them this morning! \u00a0My feet and knees were very happy!<\/p>\n
