{"id":2018,"date":"2013-11-06T12:33:56","date_gmt":"2013-11-06T18:33:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2018"},"modified":"2013-11-06T12:33:56","modified_gmt":"2013-11-06T18:33:56","slug":"planes-trains-and-automobiles-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2018","title":{"rendered":"Planes, Trains and Automobiles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a05.50 miles<\/p>\n<p>What a lovely, lovely morning for a run!<\/p>\n<p>The weather was perfect this morning! \u00a051F. \u00a0Sunny skies. \u00a0Light NE breeze. \u00a0A runner could not ask for a more perfect morning in which to run. \u00a0I could not let an opportunity like that pass me by.<\/p>\n<p>I headed out the door a little later than usual. \u00a0I was fiddling around on FB. \u00a0No excuse other than I was dawdling. \u00a0I know better than that. \u00a0No harm done, though.<\/p>\n<p>My dawdling made the traffic pattern a little more difficult than usual. \u00a0People were heading off to work and they were in a hurry AND they were not looking out for me. \u00a0I had to be on my toes today.<\/p>\n<p>There were the usual people that I pass when I am out on my run. \u00a0They were running late this morning, too. \u00a0There were the people who are usually on the road at this time~they are not used to watching for me on the road and they were distracted drivers&#8230;you know, phone in one hand, coffee or cigarette in the other and steering with an elbow.<\/p>\n<p>I am used to running against the traffic mind you and there were no close calls or anything, it was just more of a nuisance than anything else. \u00a0The thing I forgot about was the train schedule.<\/p>\n<p>On my way back this morning, I heard the train whistle. \u00a0Rats. \u00a0I really started to hustle. \u00a0I wanted to beat that train. \u00a0Nope. \u00a0It was not going to happen. \u00a0(I am still a little sore from the marathon.) \u00a0So, I got stopped by a train.<\/p>\n<p>The train was moving along at a good clip when all of a sudden it stopped. \u00a0Oh, no. \u00a0Then I heard a scrapey, scrapey, scrapey sound and saw a person off to the side. \u00a0Soon there were four cars waiting for the train~parked. \u00a0And me. \u00a0Standing. \u00a0Feeling pretty silly. \u00a0But what is a person to do? \u00a0Wait, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>Finally the train moved along, leaving half of its cars behind. \u00a0That had been the scrapey sound. \u00a0The guy I saw had been uncoupling those cars. \u00a0Ah.<\/p>\n<p>I toddled off, crossing the tracks with four cars on my side and three on the other side. \u00a0The people on the other side were giving me funny looks, like~&#8221;Lady, what in the world are you doing!?!&#8221; \u00a0It did feel very strange to run across the tracks with cars following you, waiting for you to get out of the way~even though I was way off to the side and out of their way. \u00a0It was just weird.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever seen the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles? \u00a0It has Planes, Trains and Automobiles in it! \u00a0Go figure. \u00a0On my run this morning, you now know I had the trains and automobiles components. Well&#8230;while I was walking the dog a little while ago, a plane flew over. \u00a0Spooked the dog~what a chicken. \u00a0So, here you have it: \u00a0Planes, Trains and Automobiles! \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a05.50 miles What a lovely, lovely morning for a run!
