{"id":198,"date":"2012-06-01T18:01:09","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T18:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=198"},"modified":"2012-06-01T18:01:09","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T18:01:09","slug":"listen-to-the-mockingbird","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=198","title":{"rendered":"Listen to the Mockingbird"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s run: \u00a055 min lifting at the &#8220;Y&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Last Summer, I went out into the back yard and heard all these birds singing their particular songs. \u00a0I was interested to see all these birds because it was quite the cacophony. \u00a0Looking around, I did not see anyone but one lone birdie. \u00a0He was up high, on a telephone pole, singing his little heart out! \u00a0He was a Mockingbird. \u00a0Curious about this bird, I went and &#8220;Googled&#8221; him only to discover that he is the State bird of Mississippi! \u00a0Interesting!<\/p>\n<p>I now have had opportunity to listen to the Mockingbird quite a bit and with a better practiced ear, can determine if it really is, say, a Cardinal, or a wannabe. \u00a0Also, I have had the privilege of watching these birds because we have a lot of them in our yard. \u00a0They are not the prettiest bird or the smallest but they have character.<\/p>\n<p>So, this week when the internet guy was doing his thing, my husband and I noticed a bird nest in one of our new Oak trees. \u00a0Curious, I watched that tree only to discover the inhabitants to be, you guessed it, Mockingbirds! \u00a0How much fun! \u00a0Soon we will have baby Mockingbirds and many more songs floating around the yard.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_199\" style=\"width: 1610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-199\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-199\" title=\"internet guy and bird nest 002\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002.jpg 1600w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/internet-guy-and-bird-nest-002-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-199\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I hope you can see the nest.
