Today’s Run: \u00a03.00 miles<\/p>\n
The man who owns the property behind is is bush hogging it today!!! \u00a0I cannot tell you how happy that makes me!<\/p>\n
The people who own this lot are super, super nice people. \u00a0They go to the same church as we do. \u00a0We enjoy their company. \u00a0I just wish they would mow this field more than once a year.<\/p>\n
This year has been a bumper crop year for tall grass. \u00a0On average this mowing season, I have been cutting our grass every 2-3 days due to the fact that it has been a wetter year than usual. \u00a0And hot, of course.<\/p>\n
By law, this person is required to bush hog this field once every year and it must be done by October 31. \u00a0There have been two years that on October 31st, he has been out there cutting down the weeds.<\/p>\n
These weeds are eclectic in that no two are the same. \u00a0There are a variety of weeds. \u00a0Invasive vines, a LOT of Goldenrod~so if you are prone to allergies (which we are not, thank goodness), you would not want to live at my house.<\/p>\n
There are the tall “plumy” weeds. \u00a0These are actually very pretty and graceful. \u00a0The stems are about 2″ in diameter and this year they are 8′-10′ tall. \u00a0Serious weeds!!!<\/p>\n
The field is always so much fun after it has been mowed. \u00a0The deer come and play there with their babies. \u00a0They do not come there when the grass is tall. \u00a0I wonder why?<\/p>\n
I saw a bunny running away from the tractor. \u00a0I was cheering the bunny! \u00a0Go! \u00a0Bunny! \u00a0Go!!<\/p>\n
Paxton was the most fun of all to watch because he was busy watching the tractor do its job. \u00a0Back and forth went the tractor and back and forth went Paxton’s head. \u00a0Silly dog!<\/p>\n
Our field will look nice for about two weeks then the new growth will become noticeable again. \u00a0In the meantime, I will continue to mow a couple of feet into the field as I mow our yard. \u00a0With each pass, I make the amount of mowing I do larger and larger. \u00a0With the tall grass we have too many snakes and it does tend to get a little claustrophobic.<\/p>\n
So, YAY! \u00a0The field is mowed!!! \u00a0It looks nice. \u00a0We will have to watch for deer this evening as the sun sets. \u00a0That will be nice!<\/p>\n
