Today we only did 5+ miles. \u00a0When you consider two weeks ago we ran 23 miles in one day, that is an itty bitty run.<\/p>\n<p>How am I feeling?<\/p>\n<p>If you had asked me that question last week at this time, I probably would have started crying.<\/p>\n<p>Last week my legs were lead. \u00a0I could barely run. \u00a0I was dragging myself through the &#8220;required&#8221; miles on my training plan but the joy was gone. \u00a0It was an effort to function during the day. \u00a0All I wanted to do was sleep. \u00a0I was tired. \u00a0Very, very tired.<\/p>\n<p>Then Saturday came! \u00a0We (my husband and I) ran 12 easy, easy miles! \u00a0How awesome is that!?! \u00a0The life came back into my legs~I was not tired anymore (Physically and emotionally)~Running was a joy again!!!<\/p>\n<p>Monday&#8217;s run was an easy effort. \u00a0My pace increased~my legs are not longer lead. \u00a0My body is like a computer with all its circuits firing in sequence. \u00a0Today was the same!<\/p>\n<p>This is fun again!!!<\/p>\n<p>A friend of mine who used to be a college track coach told me yesterday that the taper is the most difficult part of marathon training. She then went on to explain what she meant and boy, was she ever right!<\/p>\n<p>I guess I am just a classic case of taper madness!?!<\/p>\n<p>Regardless&#8230;I am happy to be &#8220;Back on my feet&#8221; and feeling like myself again. \u00a010 days, 17 hours, 50 minutes and 25 seconds to the starting gun. \u00a0I am ready!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a05.25 miles It is hard to believe that the time is almost here. \u00a05 more training runs and then, BOOM! \u00a0Race day!!!
