{"id":1846,"date":"2013-08-29T14:13:50","date_gmt":"2013-08-29T19:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1846"},"modified":"2013-08-29T14:13:50","modified_gmt":"2013-08-29T19:13:50","slug":"rip-garmin-fr-305-well-almost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1846","title":{"rendered":"RIP Garmin FR 305  (Well Almost)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a05.50 miles<\/p>\n<p>My Garmin is on its last leg. \u00a0This makes me sad.<\/p>\n<p>They do not make the model of Garmin that I have been using and using and using&#8230;anymore. \u00a0This presents a dilemma.<\/p>\n<p>I have grown accustomed to all the bells and whistles the 305 has to offer. \u00a0Unfortunately, all the newer models do NOT have the exact combinations of the 305. \u00a0Boo. \u00a0Bigger and better is not always what it is cracked up to be.<\/p>\n<p>So, I have been shopping.<\/p>\n<p>There are some pretty fancy Garmin&#8217;s out there! \u00a0Some of those fancy Garmin&#8217;s have a pretty hefty price tag, too! \u00a0They can hit you for $500 and up!!! \u00a0Holy Cow!!! \u00a0Fortunately, I do not have THAT expensive of a taste. \u00a0I know what I want, thank you very much, and I know what I do not need\/want. \u00a0Again, thank you very much.<\/p>\n<p>There are some relatively inexpensive Garmin&#8217;s out there, say the FR 110. \u00a0That only has a battery life of 4 hours. \u00a0Not long enough. \u00a0There is the 310. \u00a0Too expensive. \u00a0I think I have settled on the 210.<\/p>\n<p>Good grief! \u00a0This is like Goldilocks and the Three Bears!<\/p>\n<p>Yes~I have contacted Customer Support etc&#8230;not too terribly helpful. \u00a0Not this time, anyway. \u00a0They have been great in the past! \u00a0Just not this time. \u00a0I am kind of on my own for this.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing as I am smack dab in the middle of marathon training, a Garmin would be a very helpful training tool. \u00a0I have asked for a new one for Christmas, but I think I will have to replace the FR 305 WAY before Christmas. \u00a0 Like this week!<\/p>\n<p>So, I may have to do my 18 miler Saturday sans data. \u00a0Horror! \u00a0I will have to look at a clock and remember what time I began. \u00a0Look at the clock and see what time I finished and do the math. \u00a0No split time, no lap notifications, no heart rate notifications&#8230;how ever did people run before Garmin???<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a05.50 miles My Garmin is on its last leg. \u00a0This makes me sad.
