Today’s run: \u00a0Rest day<\/p>\n

Three years ago, for my birthday, my husband got me three bee hives. \u00a0I have been interested in keeping bees since we lived in Colorado. \u00a0I never really expressed my interest in bees to my husband until we moved here. \u00a0Why? \u00a0We had a lot of bears in our neighborhood and I did not think that bears in the yard and bees in the yard were a good combination. \u00a0As it was, we had to chase bears off of our deck to keep them out of the bird feeders, so bees? \u00a0No way!<\/p>\n

Now, no bears, so I finally got my bees. \u00a0The bees are a great deal of enjoyment to me. \u00a0I like walking through the yard to watch them fly and try to guess where they are going to get to the good flowers. \u00a0I like to “suit up” in my bee suit with the fancy hat and leather gloves. \u00a0I like the smell of honey when we open up the hives and I like to brush the bees off of the fresh comb before we bring it into the house. \u00a0I like working with my husband when we get into the hives and extract the honey and put it into the jars.<\/p>\n

The bees have been good to me and they have been one of the best birthday presents ever. \u00a0Thank you, sweetie!<\/p>\n
