My In-Laws popped in for a quick visit last night. \u00a0It was way too fast of a visit because we really enjoy their company. \u00a0We had a great time while they were here. \u00a0One of the things we did while they were here was drive to Sonic for a malt. \u00a0Mmmm!!!<\/p>\n
We arrived at Sonic at 7:30~a half hour before “Happy Hour” begins. \u00a0Oh well…we were not going to sit there for a half hour so we could get a little off the price of our malts. \u00a0We decided to order. \u00a0“WELCOME TO SONIC. \u00a0MAY I TAKE YOUR ORDER!” boomed the intercom. \u00a0“Wow!” \u00a0I said to my husband. \u00a0“They have that turned up loud tonight.” \u00a0We placed our order.<\/p>\n
While we were waiting, a car pulled up next to ours. \u00a0A very pretty lady in a fancy black Lexus pulled up next to us. \u00a0She pushed the order button…”WELCOME TO SONIC. \u00a0MAY I TAKE YOUR ORDER!” \u00a0She jumped a mile and then got the giggles. \u00a0I started laughing, too. \u00a0She looked at me and made reference to the volume and we agreed that it was a little loud.<\/p>\n
That was when I noticed a little boy in the back seat. \u00a0He was jumping up and down and waving and smiling…He was clearly happy to see me. \u00a0I looked and it was our little neighbor boy! \u00a0I smiled and waved back at him. \u00a0He was happy.<\/p>\n
I looked again at the lady.<\/p>\n
Now, our neighbor lady does not come out of the house often. \u00a0She is not the outdoorsy type. \u00a0I wouldn’t know if she was our neighbor lady for anything. \u00a0I figured she had to be our neighbor~who else could she be? \u00a0We got our malts and drove home.<\/p>\n
As we home and got out of the car and here came the neighbor boy pedaling on his bike to our house as fast as he could go! \u00a0He stopped and we said we liked his new car. \u00a0Yes, he said they had had it a little while now. \u00a0My husband asked if he had a new bike? \u00a0No, it was his old bike. \u00a0No training wheels anymore. \u00a0Hmmm, finally, my husband introduced his parents to the neighbor boy. \u00a0He was clearly curious as to who these new people were.<\/p>\n
Then my FIL stuck out his hand and said “Hi. \u00a0My name is_____” \u00a0and the neighbor boy shook his hand and said, “Hi, Mr. _____”. \u00a0My MIL said “I am very pleased to meet you” and the neighbor boy threw his arms around my MIL and gave her a HUGE hug!!! \u00a0My MIL was at a loss there for a moment. \u00a0It was charming.<\/p>\n
We have good neighbors and they are raising good kids. \u00a0We are very fortunate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
