Today’s Run: \u00a0Rest Day<\/p>\n
I really should have run today after the big doo-dah we had at our house yesterday, but our training schedule for our marathon (Complements of Hal Higdon) says that today is a rest day. \u00a0So today, begrudgingly, we rest.<\/p>\n
We got a TON of rain yesterday. \u00a02.78″ of rain. \u00a0It started sprinkling right around lunch time and kept it up until around 5:00 pm. \u00a0Today it is doing the exact same thing. \u00a0And it is supposed to repeat this pattern tomorrow and Sunday…all the way until Tuesday. \u00a0So far today we have received a little shy of one inch of rain. \u00a0But it is early afternoon…we have lots of time to catch up to yesterday’s total! \u00a0Do not give up hope!<\/p>\n
(My daughter and I had purchased a fishing boat for my husband for Father’s Day. \u00a0We may just have to use it, huh? )<\/p>\n
Which brings me to a little story. \u00a0Back in the day, Once upon a Time…however you want this tale to begin…when my children were \u00a0young the church we attended had a program on Halloween night. \u00a0The children were to dress up as a Bible character and the congregation tried to guess who they were.<\/p>\n
We thought long and hard about my daughter. \u00a0She had been an angel, Mary, and other female Bible characters in years past…who to be this year??? \u00a0 Well, it was raining this particular year and while looking for an umbrella to carry to church, inspiration struck (I was really desperate for an idea!). \u00a0I had some pink foam rollers…yup, you know what is coming next. \u00a0I rolled up her hair, put a bit of blusher and lipstick on her and gave her the umbrella…Ta-Dah! \u00a0Meet, Mrs. Noah! \u00a0She was a hit!<\/p>\n
All that to say, if this rain keeps going until Tuesday, I may have to change my name to Mrs. Noah!<\/p>\n
