{"id":1646,"date":"2013-06-11T14:37:06","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T19:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1646"},"modified":"2013-06-11T14:37:06","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T19:37:06","slug":"the-chicken-and-the-water-bottle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1646","title":{"rendered":"The Chicken and the Water Bottle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a0Walked the Dog<\/p>\n<p>Summer is here and it is toasty hot. \u00a0Right now it is 97 F. and 58 % humidity. \u00a0The low humidity is what is making the heat bearable. \u00a0But my chickens do not get a reprieve from the warm weather. \u00a0As a matter of fact, until today, they did not even get any shade!<\/p>\n<p>My chickens, as you already know, are in a tractor instead of a conventional coop. \u00a0The tractor allows me to relocate them each day so they have a fresh supply of grass and bugs to eat. \u00a0They really like it. \u00a0 But I do not have much in the way of trees on my 2 acres of property for shade except for way down on the SW corner of our lot.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we moved the chickens from the NE corner down to the SW corner. \u00a0What a production! \u00a0I had to climb into the tractor and snag a chicken, one by one, and hand them off to my husband who placed them in a pen I had constructed. He then rolled the tractor to the other side of our lot.
