Today’s Run \u00a06.00 miles<\/p>\n
It was a warm one this morning. \u00a074 F. and 80% humidity~at 6:00 am. \u00a0Oppressive. \u00a0But, out we trudged and got our miles in. \u00a0We were not speedy like we were when it was cooler, but we got through it.<\/p>\n
Today was a recovery run from Saturday’s long run. \u00a0We ran hard on Saturday. \u00a0Too hard for a “long, slow run” but everything “clicked” and we were off! \u00a0Felt great!!<\/p>\n
Today, we paid. \u00a0With today’s heat and recovering from Saturday, we paid. \u00a0But we did it! \u00a0We ran some hills in with the recovery run, too, so it was not a total waste of a run.<\/p>\n
The critter’s were out today!<\/p>\n
First off, black\/biting fly season is here enforce. \u00a0Broke out the bug spray today. \u00a0Needed it, too! \u00a0Even with the bug spray, I managed to get bit.<\/p>\n
Lots of butterflies! \u00a0I wish I knew my butterflies better so I could tell you all the varieties. \u00a0They were so pretty~flittering and fluttering…here and there…I love butterflies.<\/p>\n
Donkeys. \u00a0Our neighbors have two donkeys. \u00a0Both of them were out by the side of the road as we ran by. \u00a0Scared me to death with their loud “Hee-Haw!!!”. \u00a0I had not noticed them in the field until they started braying. \u00a0Made me pick up my feet a little quicker for a second or two.<\/p>\n
The horses. \u00a0I was prepared for the horses. \u00a0There are eight of them in the field next to our house. \u00a0They are used to us running by and just nod as watch us go by. \u00a0I guess we are old hat to them by now.<\/p>\n
The Cattle. \u00a0There is another field with five cattle. \u00a0These are not the friendly cattle that follow us along the fence row “mooing”, encouraging us as we run by. \u00a0These guys have short horns and spook easily. \u00a0They make me shiver because they are so jumpy. \u00a0I think that if there was ever a break in that fence, we would be toast. \u00a0They scatter when we run by. Spooky.<\/p>\n
I love living and running in the country! \u00a0It is always full of surprises. \u00a0Never a dull moment!<\/p>\n
