Today’s Run: \u00a011.50 miles<\/p>\n
We did our long run today. \u00a0We ran for 2:25~that’s two hours and 25 minutes.<\/p>\n
When we began our run it was nice out~68 F. \u00a086% humidity. \u00a0Great weather by Mississippi standards. \u00a0When we finished 2:25 later it was 80 F. and still 86% humidity. \u00a0It was getting a little warm and uncomfortable. \u00a0My husband is sensitive to the heat and he was starting to have a little trouble with it. \u00a0The heat does not really “get to me” but I much prefer the cooler weather.<\/p>\n
We were spoiled last week running in Colorado. \u00a0It was cool and there was no humidity, so to speak, so we are acclimating to the heat and humidity all over again. \u00a0Oh well…<\/p>\n
Our route for the running group this morning was an old favorite, the “Chinese Restaurant Route”. \u00a0There is about 3 miles of gravel on this route but I am used to it now and all is does is slow me down a bit, not really a lot of trouble like it used to be. \u00a0The problem lies with Pike Road.<\/p>\n
Pike Road is The Road That Never Ends. \u00a0We are on this road for six miles. \u00a0Six very looooong miles. \u00a0We actually have two water stops on this road. \u00a0Surely there is a better way to break the monotony of Pike Road than a water stop? \u00a0Apparently not.<\/p>\n
It is nice to chat with all the people in the running group and the water stops. \u00a0There was a nice turnout today, too. \u00a0Maybe 30 people! \u00a0That is great! \u00a0We like to see a lot of people~you can get motivated by the other runners and hopefully pass a little energy on to them, too!<\/p>\n
When we run Pike Road, all I can think of is Lamb Chop. \u00a0Do you remember Lamb Chop?<\/p>\n
