{"id":1617,"date":"2013-06-01T20:42:15","date_gmt":"2013-06-02T01:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1617"},"modified":"2013-06-01T20:42:15","modified_gmt":"2013-06-02T01:42:15","slug":"running-at-5000-ft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1617","title":{"rendered":"Running at 5,000 ft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a07.00 miles<\/p>\n<p>We are visiting our daughter in Colorado this week. \u00a0We arrived in Colorado last evening. \u00a0We went on our first run in Colorado this morning. \u00a0We are in a Denver suburb for the week at about 5,000 ft elevation.<\/p>\n<p>It was breezy this morning. \u00a0The wind was from the NW at 10 mph. \u00a0Between elevation and the wind and the hills&#8230;it was an awesome run!!! \u00a0After spending two days in the car, driving from Mississippi to Colorado, hitting the road was a very welcome thing.<\/p>\n<p>The air is thinner here than in Mississippi. \u00a0It seems like you need more of it here to be able to breath while running. \u00a0We took water with us on the run and that was a very good thing. \u00a0It was most welcome.<\/p>\n<p>We saw three snakes. \u00a0Two deceased and one very much alive. \u00a0The two were a little flat from car tires, the one, well we were very happy to see it slither in the opposite direction!<\/p>\n<p>Our daughter laughed at us. \u00a0Still is for that matter. \u00a0She is not a runner but is trying to get the time off from work to go with us to Maine for our marathon in October. \u00a0Purely as a spectator.<\/p>\n<p>Running at altitude was demanding but we rose to the challenge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a07.00 miles We are visiting our daughter in Colorado this week. \u00a0We arrived in Colorado last evening. \u00a0We went on our first run in Colorado this morning. \u00a0We are in a Denver suburb for the week at about 5,000 ft elevation.
