Today’s Run: \u00a050 min lifting at the “Y”<\/p>\n
I have a pet phrase. \u00a0It pops out of my mouth continually. \u00a0It is used for enthusiasm, encouragement, and to end a conversation. \u00a0That phrase is, “Cool Beans!”. \u00a0It is the epitome of catch phrases. \u00a0It is all encompassing in its uses. \u00a0Awesome phrase that, Cool Beans.<\/p>\n
Recently, my son was conversing with me through text. \u00a0We were being smart with each other, one trying to outdo the other. \u00a0I was saving my Cool Beans for my grand conclusion when he texted me, “Chilled Legumes”. \u00a0Chilled Legumes!?! \u00a0What in the world does that mean??? \u00a0It was late evening and I was a little fuzzy. \u00a0Not thinking clearly.<\/p>\n
Do you know that by the next morning I still did not “get it”!?! \u00a0I was incredibly S-L-O-W on the uptake. \u00a0It is embarrassing for me to even admit it here. \u00a0My son had to explain to me that he had got the upper hand. \u00a0How humiliating. \u00a0How degrading. \u00a0Here I had been saving my Cool Beans and he had “turned a phrase” and beat me at my own game.<\/p>\n
He still gives me grief about that. \u00a0I don’t think I will ever be allowed to forget it. \u00a0I think that if he has his way, my headstone will be engraved with, “Chilled Legumes”.<\/p>\n
So, that is my embarrassing admission to you all today. \u00a0I was beat at my own game. \u00a0By my 23 year old son. \u00a0And he is reveling in that today. \u00a0Probably as we speak. \u00a0Kids…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
