Today’s Run: \u00a050 min lifting at the “Y” and 35 min walking Paxton<\/p>\n
We have two grown children. \u00a0When they made their bid for independence and moved out, they each got a cat. \u00a0They did not purchase a cat, let us make that clear. \u00a0My daughter “found” a cat, that cat had kittens and she gave a kitten to my son. \u00a0Voila’! \u00a0Two cats.<\/p>\n
Guess what!?! \u00a0They each moved across the country and needed to find new homes for their cats. \u00a0Guess what again!?! \u00a0We now have two cats. The one cat that was “found” by my daughter and the kitten from that initial cat. \u00a0We started out with one dog. \u00a0In our family, we now have one dog, two cats, five chickens and five honey bee hives (the average hive has 60,000 bees~I’ll let you do the math).<\/p>\n
The dog, the bees and the chickens were my idea. \u00a0The cats were not. \u00a0We are fortunate that they are “good” cats. \u00a0They bring us gifts almost every day! \u00a0A dead mouse or every now and then, when they are lucky, a dead bird. \u00a0They are hunters, those two. \u00a0Every morning we find their offerings on the door mat, we praise them for their mighty hunting prowess and then dispose of the gift when they are not looking.<\/p>\n
The dog, oh my goodness, the dog. \u00a0Well, he is unique. \u00a0He is a Boxer. Mr. Enthusiasm. \u00a0The Destroyer. Bozo. \u00a0Those are the names by which he is known. \u00a0His real name is Paxton and that gets used quite a bit as well as the other names. \u00a0They all fit. \u00a0Especially, Bozo.<\/p>\n
The chickens. \u00a0I wanted chickens for the eggs and they are great layers! \u00a0But they have turned into pets, too. \u00a0When they hear the house door open and close, they run the the end of their run, “Cluck, cluck, cluck!!!” \u00a0“What did you bring me to eat!?!”. \u00a0They are a lot of fun and I am enjoying them a great deal.<\/p>\n
The bees. \u00a0Well, they are grouchy. \u00a0But you cannot expect bees to be cute and cuddly now, can you? \u00a0They produce some awesome honey which we sell at Farmer’s Markets and by word of mouth. \u00a0We are organic bee producers. \u00a0Raw, unfiltered, 100% organic…good stuff!<\/p>\n
That leaves a little bit of room for my husband and myself on our almost two acres of property. \u00a0We live in the country, on the Prairie of Mississippi. \u00a0We are 12 miles from the Alabama line and two and a half hours North from the Gulf of Mexico. \u00a0We enjoy the peace and quite and relaxed ways of living in the South.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
