Today’s Run: 4.30 miles<\/p>\n
Today was our last run before this Saturday’s race. \u00a0We have been doing a very small “taper” before the race so we are fresh to run our best. \u00a0We will take Friday off from running. \u00a0We will sit in the car.<\/p>\n
Friday is going to be a busy day~well, Saturday is too, for that matter. \u00a0We have to take the dog to be boarded on Friday morning. \u00a0He loves going and playing with Reggie. \u00a0Reggie owns the boarding place and Paxton worships him.<\/p>\n
After we take Paxton over to Reggie’s place, we take off for Corinth, Mississippi. \u00a0That is where the race will be held. \u00a0Corinth is about a three hour drive north of where we live and very close to the Tennessee boarder.<\/p>\n
We are not going to “hotel it” in Corinth, however. \u00a0Every man and his dog will be staying there. \u00a0We are going into Tennessee about 20 miles North of Corinth. \u00a0There is a Civil War Interpretive Center there that we would like to visit. \u00a0So, we will play tourist on Friday, run on Saturday and then come home.<\/p>\n
We are very fortunate that our son, Tom, lives in Mississippi now, too. \u00a0He is our official house watcher. \u00a0He will stay overnight at the house to take care of the cats and the chickens! \u00a0He is a good sport, that Tom!<\/p>\n
They have had to cap this race at 1,500 runners. \u00a0This is the largest turn out in the history of this race~35 years, or something like that. \u00a0It is supposed to be the best small race (short distance~6.2 miles) in the SE United States.<\/p>\n
