Today’s Run: \u00a07 miles. \u00a0 Time1:33<\/p>\n

Today’s run was difficult. \u00a0It was almost 80 degrees by the time we were done and it was only 8:30! \u00a0The result was that we went slow. \u00a0As a matter of fact, we went slower than slow. \u00a0Our average pace was about 14:00 min. mile. \u00a0We saw lots of things on our slow run today, the most notable one was a millipede. \u00a0It was larger than expected, about 2 1\/2 inches long and fat! \u00a0When stopping to thing about it, I guess it would need to be long to fit all those feet in there.<\/p>\n

The other thing that was notable today was the way our shadows followed us the entire run. \u00a0It was a beautiful, sunny day (ie: no shade) so we had the company of our shadows. \u00a0So, I was reminded of the poem by Robert Louis Stevenson my mother had me learn when I was little, so I will share it with you.<\/p>\n

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,<\/p>\n

And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.<\/p>\n

He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head,<\/p>\n

And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.<\/p>\n

The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow-<\/p>\n

Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;<\/p>\n

For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,<\/p>\n

And he sometimes goes so little that there’s none of him at all…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
