{"id":1443,"date":"2013-04-20T13:52:56","date_gmt":"2013-04-20T18:52:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1443"},"modified":"2013-04-20T13:55:40","modified_gmt":"2013-04-20T18:55:40","slug":"the-phone-thing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=1443","title":{"rendered":"The Phone Thing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a011.00 miles<\/p>\n<p>My phone was having serious issues and the expiration date for my contract was not up until November 29. \u00a0This was a problem.<\/p>\n<p>(I am going to be specific and talk carrier names here, so hold on to your hats.)<\/p>\n<p>We had been with AT&amp;T for, oh goodness, close to 20 years? \u00a0A long time, anyway. \u00a0We had started with them when we lived in Colorado because my husband&#8217;s place of employment had a discount through AT&amp;T. \u00a0Unfortunately, all these years, we have a lousy service and lousy coverage and I have been getting more and more disgruntled with AT&amp;T.<\/p>\n<p>Enter our move to Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p>At our present residence in Mississippi, we have NO cell coverage at the house with AT&amp;T~UNLESS~I stand on the far corner of the front porch and sometimes, if I am lucky, I can send a text. \u00a0And for that they wanted $170.00 per month. Talk and text ONLY! \u00a0Nope. \u00a0That is just wrong. \u00a0Now&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>My husband has a cell phone provided by his employer (the same employer that got us started with AT&amp;T) through Verizon and has excellent service and coverage! \u00a0This seemed to be a no brainer to me. \u00a0So, yesterday, I packed up my AT&amp;T cell phone (This is with my husband and I having talked it over first. \u00a0I would never do anything like this without talking it through with him and us agreeing on it.) and toddled on over to my local Verizon store and bought me a new Smart Phone (I have caught up with technology!) and have a plan with unlimited data, unlimited text, unlimited talk&#8230;for only $10.00 a month more than what AT&amp;T was charging me for basically no service. \u00a0I think that is called a win-win!<\/p>\n<p>I am a happy camper!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a011.00 miles My phone was having serious issues and the expiration date for my contract was not up until November 29. \u00a0This was a problem.
