Today’s Run: \u00a03.56 miles<\/p>\n
*We had a short run today because tomorrow’s run with the running group is a big one.<\/p>\n
It is interesting to me to see the places where one receives support. \u00a0 One would expect to get support from one’s spouse, siblings, friends, children, parents…<\/p>\n
But online friends??? \u00a0That is a\u00a0surprising\u00a0 YES!<\/p>\n
Since my husband and I have signed up for our marathon, well first off, my husband is a huge supporter of my running…HUGE! \u00a0Second comes my sister, she is awesome! \u00a0My friends, people I have known throughout my lifetime, are behind us one hundred percent. \u00a0But the most surprising support has been from my online friends at MyFitnessPal.com.<\/p>\n
MyFitnessPal (MFP) is a wellness site that I joined a year ago (almost to the day). \u00a0You log your food, exercise, make friends…in a sense it is like a fitness FB~only better. \u00a0FB can be detached but MFP is more personal…hard to describe.<\/p>\n
When I posted on MFP about the race, within 5 minutes I had 16 positive comments regarding my husband and I running this marathon! \u00a0And more came in during the next day. \u00a0I had positive comments on FB, too. \u00a0That was very nice.<\/p>\n
The people who should have been supportive of this\u00a0endeavor are not.<\/p>\n
So, it is surprising to find your real friends. \u00a0My husband, my sister, my children, my in-laws, my FB friends and my MFP friends. \u00a0I am thankful for support!<\/p>\n
