Classic Rock

#1 Son and I did a WalMart run today.  We hadn’t gone “shopping” together for quite a while.  It was like old times.

On our way home (after depleting the checking account) he started playing some music.  Eye of the Tiger was his first selection.  He had the volume way up and the car was thudding along.

I was reminiscing back to my Half Marathon a year ago.  (I do not run with music.  Never, ever have.  I just go and run.)

At this particular race, I had a person who ran behind me the entire race.  They were listening to music.  They had it LOUD!  The next two hours, I was privileged to listen to their rendition of motivating music.  It seemed that this person only liked one song because they had it on a loop.  The same song, over and over and over.  Eye of the Tiger…Eye of the Tiger…Eye of the Tiger…Eye of the Tiger…I kept on running as fast as I could to get away from that song!

The next song #1 Son played was one by Journey.  Memories!  Haha!  I mentioned to #1 Son that I remembered when that song came out.  This was stuff that was on the charts when I was in High School.  He gave me, “The Look.”

You know…The Look that says, “Honestly!  You expect me to believe that this was good stuff back that long ago!?!”

Yup.  They don’t call it “Classic Rock” for grins, you know.

After Journey, he played one that he knew was tippy top on my list of favorite songs.  He was telling me that his roommate had never heard this song before.  My jar dropped open!  Never heard it!  He must live under a rock!!!

Now, before I share this song with you, I want you to know the kind of stuff I really like.  I am a Pink Floyd junkie.  Love Pink Floyd!  I also enjoy  Rolling Stones, Boston, AC/DC, you know, mostly metal.

My most favorite song, though, is a far cry from metal.  It just totally cracks me up.  I think that is why I like it so much.  This is really the only song I like by him, too.  Here you go.  This is my favorite song:  Bob Dylan, “Rainy Day Woman.”
