[Today’s run: 3 miles]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During today’s run I came across a turtle trying to cross the road. He was about 8-9 inches in diameter. He was just coming on to the road on the south side while I was going down the first big hill just away from the house. The road was empty so I moved into the middle so as to not scare him away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I then ran to the turnaround at the usual place, the mailbox past Max’s house. On the way back Max came out of his house barking and came to the road to check me out but he was disappointed that I don’t have snacks and he let me continue on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I got to the the uphill on that last big slope I could see a bump in the road and I was pretty sure the turtle had been squished. But when I got close I was glad to see he was tucked into his shell and hiding out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I picked him up and carried him to the north side of the road and he zoomed off into the grass.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
