I was able to get things going again about 8 pm.

I am slowly sorting out the issues. The main one appears to be that the GUI desktop is stealing my USB sound system when I plug it in. So I have to have some kind of sacrificial sound card that I can dedicate to the system sounds. I can’t find any way to turn them off.

I had tried a cheapie Amazon sourced PCIe sound card but it was making the system crash. So I’ve borrowed another USB sound device from my editing station and that is just there to keep the GUI/OS happy.

I could buy a used SoundBlaster card for $30 on ebay, but I don’t know if that would work or not.

We are on the new server though! And this week we start playing War and Peace which is a new addition to our library.

[Wednesday: 3.2 miles; Saturday: 6.8; today: 3.2] Last Wednesday I ran in the morning.
