He connected with the owners, and then lined up ham club members to help him take the tower down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That happened this past Monday.  I was the tower monkey.  We had probably a dozen people there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was hot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We started around 7 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tower was about 50 feet tall with two sets of saggy guy wires and a base buried in the dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We started off by putting in some temporary guy ropes at a mid level.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we lowered the top section along with a rotator mast.  After that the rotator section.  Then there were like three more sections and we were done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had some problems with the heat and came down twice to cool off and once to use the restroom.
