He starts with the CPU chip and some discrete parts and goes from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That reminded me of a book I  had in the mid 1990&#8217;s.  I don&#8217;t remember what happened to it.  It was about wiring up a home computer from scratch using wire-wrap technique.  I never really tried it, but it was interesting to read.  Circuit diagrams and data sheets talk about buses and signals, and multiplexing  and de-multiplexing and such things.  It starts to get interesting when you see how it is all actually hooked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, I went and did some searching.  I think maybe the book I had was this one: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Build-Your-Microcomputer-Based-Intel\/dp\/0827370695\"><strong>Build Your Own Microcomputer Based on the Intel 8088<\/strong> by Walter Fuller<\/a> .  I&#8217;ve linked that to the Amazon page in case you want to buy a copy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t know what happened to my copy or even if that is the right book, (but it sounds like what I remember).
